Get ready for work in health and social care

The Preparing for Work in Health and Social Care in Scotland Programme has been designed to support new and existing staff to deliver safe, effective, person-centred care.

The programme was developed by the NHS Scotland Academy to support those new to the Health and Social Care employment.

The programme includes modules and resources on two sites to allow both Health and Social Care employees to access the content most relevant to them.

Preparing for working in Health and Social Care Digital Resource

The Preparing for working in Health and Social Care Digital Resource is hosted on TURAS Learn and is made up of modules containing both practical, clinical and non-technical skills which are essential for those working in health and social care.

As a new employee, you can undertake each module as many times as you like to make sure you are aware and familiar with the content. Some of the content enables you to view links to resources to support your wider understanding of the topic.

Your completion of each module will be acknowledged, and your board will be able to access this information. For those working in social care, a QR code is available to log a record of learning undertaken.

You will also receive an E-certificate for each session you complete.
